Edward Zorab is a British writer and director whose narrative work has attracted an international festival audience and was shortlisted by BAFTA for his short film Youth In Bed. His last suite of shorts, Apophenia, was distributed by BIFA qualifying Minute Shorts to online acclaim. He works primarily across film and television, with a focus on psychologically rich, socially engaged genre storytelling. His work blends folk horror, noir, and speculative drama to explore themes of identity, trauma, and institutional power.
His most recent short film Dissonance, a folk horror set in a haunted recording studio, was produced by Unfold Films, with original music by Leo Wyndham (Palace), and is currently on the festival circuit, whilst also being developed into a feature film.
Edward is also in development with several original projects, including Carpaccio, a crime thriller about migrant chefs in Mayfair and classism, as well as The Exports, a dark crime drama pilot surrounding a contentious prison labour scheme on an island off the coast of Scotland.
In addition to his work in film and TV, Edward has two stageplays on his slate: Thumbs and The Professionals, the latter of which was awarded a 'Highly Commended' accolade from The National Theatre's New Work Department.
